YouTube Time Machine

YouTube Time Machine
You have to try this!  Super cool! A great resource for history/social studies classes to show what was occuring in a particular year or use this in English Language Arts/Reading classes to put a book's time period into perspective for students.
Select a year and view videos from that year. There is a handy little search box.  Type in a year or something you remember from any time period, such as 9-11-2001.  You can select sports, video games, commercials, current events, television, movies, and music from that specific year. Amazing tool!!!

There is also a tab for MOST LOVED videos.  Shows you the most popular videos for today, this week, this month, and all time.

Hope you have time to give this a look....Try looking at all the videos, commercials, television, etc.  for your birth year!

FODEY - The Newspaper Clipping Generator

Fodey is a neat Web 2.0 tool that allows users to generate their own authentic newspaper clipping or one of the other "talking choices." Simply enter the name of a fictitious newspaper, date, headline, and story—and Fodey does the rest!

Besides being super easy to use, Fodey requires no log-in or registration. It also creates a pretty neat bulletin board worthy product!

To download your newspaper, use the link at the bottom of the generated image. You can use the images as you wish, ie. put them on your own website or blog. Please note, that direct linking to the newspaper clippings doesn't work; the images are deleted from the server after a short time span.

SlideBomb Academy

SlideBomb  is a very simple mashup Slideshow!  On each slide you may embed YouTube videos, images or links to images, Google Map images, or you may simply have a slide of text.  A teacher may create a portfolio for your class.  Your students sign up and create their own slideshows.

A teacher may create an account, then the students sign in to the website that the teacher has created.  You may have several SlideBomb projects going at the same time OR you may wish to create a website for each bell.

Looks like a very cool website to engage students.
The student will learn the information as they create a SlideBomb!
